I immediately thought of something like a heavy-duty hook eye bolt in the ceiling to hang whatever you have there. Commercially available hammock chairs like this- http://compare.ebay.com/like/2307494...Types&var=sbar
could be hung from it and there you go!
Of course, extra credit would be given for a DIY version made with cuben fiber and amsteel. :-)

Actually, I'm not really interested unless the hammock is full size. A chair-size hammock doesn't really seem that cozy, more like a large g-string.

    Okay, back to work.

We often have this one hung up in the "office"/stock room. It's one of the Bushman Hammock Chairs and is extremely comfortable. No G String going on there, Princess in that picture was about 8 months prego with the now almost 3 year old. Could not get her to leave the hammock chair to go home on that day till I told her we could set it up at home. Dejoha is correct I will often take a break from the chair or chat on the phone/skype in it.

Yep, tricky is right. I don't think maintenance would like me hanging some amsteel from the girders above the drop ceiling...

was wondering why a larger backpack wouldn't work. plus it being multi functional

It would be so tempting just to swing around all day.

    Phone conversation:

    Me: swingwing Hel..lo...oo?
Other: Er, yea, I need that report.
    Me: hmm...mm..*swing*......sur..e.. ...*swing* I'll .. ge..tt it...to *swing* you la...ter.

The Doppler effect could be effectively tested in a hammock/office relationship.

My dream is for my "office" to be in a hammock, not my hammock to be in a office.
Brain under construction! Please excuse my spelling!

my Brazilian hammock is only about 15 steps outside my office in garage - I often walk out there & talk on phone

I do have an empty corner in office. Already tried using a DIY hammock to make chair = fail.

Was thinking about hanging something like this

Being a net maker by avocation a hammock chair was easy to make. Tony
I made a flat panel of netting and tied the ends to a 3' length wood dowel. I strung a length of cord between the ends of the dowel and through one edge of the net to form a back support. Tony
