    $49 Panda Hammock @ Sportsman's Guide

Sportsman's guide is having a end of year sale and they have a "Panda" type hammock/bag going for $49. It seems to be rated at 8*F. I thought this might interest a few of you so enjoy.

A few members here have one, including myself.
There are a couple of fatal design flaws, not the least of which is a non breathable bottom that produces heavy condensation and the fact that the bottom insulation is compressed beneath a person laying in it.

That said, it is other wise a promising design that could be done a whole lot better by someone with the diy skills to make it lighter and address its problems.

I just bought one off a whim, to help save a bit of money if I hike the AT. I am kinda regretting it but for $50 you get a hammock and a sleeping bag that will work in pretty cold weather(or so it says). Its not the lightest thing in the world but again its two items in one. I should pick up a rain fly which should bring the total weight up to 5 pounds.

I just noticed how messed up I sound in this post... haha.

Does anyone know how big it is packed? I wanted to get a Jam2 for a hike, but I may have to move up a size now... if not a few more. : /
