    Webbing Suspension on Hennessy

I wanted to know if anyone knows how to outfit the HH EXP Deluxe Asym Zip with a webbing suspension system like that of the WBBB. I am new to all of this. Not really great at tying knots and such. A video guide or a picture guide would be most helpful to me.

    Thanks.

I converted all my hammocks over..
There is a video running around on how to change the HH to whoopie slings. Its the same idea except you do it with a continuous loop.

Here is a post on changing it to slings.
Just follow the same pattern with a continuous loop.

I'd go for a pair of bloomgorge's elephant trunks. Video here:

I think you will need to change to Amsteel on the hammock to fit the trunks. I would try the Hennessy rope first to see if the rest of the setup works as you want it to. I am not sure that the rope will fit though.

I only used it a pair of nights (just started my DIY and am going to be using that for a while), but you don't need to swap out the suspension at all if you're willing to cut it down. Simply either buy or make a webbing suspension system, minus the amsteel loops. Then tie the Hennessy lashing to the buckles or rings (whichever you're using) as close to the hammock body as you think you can. Cut the extra line off of the Hennessy and you're good to go!

(Note: this worked for me with JRB's tri-glide system as well, for approximately 30 to 50 nights, total, over the last year. However, when I removed the tri-glides, the loop in the strapping was noticeably compressed and worn where the knot had placed load on it. YMMV, but keep an eye on it if you're going to use it on a regular basis with that system.)

That's a good option for the UL thickness rope.. Not sure about the Standard/Delux thickness ropes. Only takes a few minutes to swap it over to amsteel as well.

Here is how I did it to an expedition asym http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=42781

Hope that helps a bit. I know it isn't exactly like a WBB but it has worked very well and the rings serve as a drip link in the rain also. I use one continuous strap with loops on both ends for my combo tree straps/hammock suspension and a dutch clip on one of my hammocks at the tree and on another I use a climbing biner. Hope that helps a bit.

PS a double prusik holds the two climbing rings tight and keeps the suspension from sliding, though I do add a slippery half hitch behind them anyway.
