Can anybody point me toward a hex tarp that will give me decent coverage, decent weight, and is $100 or less? I know that might be a tall order, but I figure it's worth a shot.
Remember with a bridge hammock, your tarp needs to cover the spreader bars or you run the risk of getting wet. So if you go with a hex shaped tarp, factor that in. The large Hennessey Hammocks hex tarp in polyurethane coated is $70 US but weighs 23 oz.

I don't think you're going to find what you are looking for in a new tarp. Check the for sale section, for a used large/winter silnylon tarp (Super Fly, JRB 11x10, etc) that will get you the weight and cost fact you are after.

    Cheers

If I were buying today, the Arrowhead Equipment Toxaway would bet a close look. It is about the size of a Hennessy Hex, weight is very low at 14 oz and it is on sale now for $80.00.

Not looking to side track the thread here but I am following along because of similar interest.

Would both the tadpole and toxaway give adequite coverage for a WBBB in a good storm?

Thanks and again, hope I don't hijack.

I went through several really heavy summer storms with an eno pro fly covering my wbbb. The pro fly is actually narrower than the tad pole, and I stayed dry, even in a driving rain. You do have to look out for the rain splashing up, but I suspect that is a problem except for the largest tarps.
