    Learning about top Quilts

I was terribly unhappy when I got my top quilt but here is what I did not know. Having zero experience, I tired to get across to the vendor that I wanted a extra wide foot box, I was told it would be 44" wide and it was, SO I'm thinking half of 44 is 22" that should be plenty wide enough....I did not understand, when you cinch the draw string it sucks the width down to like 16".... too narrow for me. I'm going to try to figure out a different closure for the end. Sorry to the vendor for the confusion, glad I did not name them.

Before you go about modding it yourself, try contacting the vendor you got it from. More'n likely, if you describe what you expected and how the miscommunication occurred, they'll be willing to work with you to fix it. You might have to pay for an extension added, but I can't see them saying "no". All of the cottage vendors that I've had dealings with here have been exceptionally helpful and willing to work with me.

    Hope it helps!

I think I'm on my own now, no response from email or phone. It's frustrating to me because as soon as I presented the issue to another vendor (the very nice people at underground) they knew RIGHT away what I was asking for. They showed me a picture of a TQ with the end sewn flat, (looks just like a rectangular bag). I'm going to try to sell the gear I just got and order from underground. I'm sure someone will want the stuff I got, the quality is outstanding just not right for me.

In all fairness, the folks from UGQ are at the Michigan Spring Hang this weekend (link is to their notice thread). They may not've seen your e-mail or voicemail as of yet, since they don't have coverage out there.

Wait 'till Monday or Tuesday before passing judgement on 'em; Paul and Missy seemed like nice folks when I met 'em at the Third Annual FL Hang. I'm fairly sure they'd be willing to make it right.

I think the OP was saying he is looking to purchase from Underground.

No no no...UGQ is the people that are going to help me. I bought my quilts from another vendor but don't want to say who because I don't want to knock good eq just because I didn't know what I wanted. I'm saying UGQ understood what I wanted, and are going to make me what I want after I sell the Quilts from the other vendor. Your right UGQ is awesome, they have answered every question, shown me pictures and know their product inside and out.

Ah. My apologies. Didn't read the post correctly.

I hope your quilt turns out great!
