lvleph... i'm assuming you know about mixing a good quality, 100% silicon w/ mineral spirits or white gas (about 50/50?) & using a disposable foam brush to apply it. works like a charm.
but if you do it this close to time to go on a trip, just let it cure as long as you can stretched out, then put baby powder on the newly sealed seams to keep it from sticking to it's self.

Yeah I use the same stuff. I do it outside because I happen to have a decent spot, but I don't think the smell would be a problem. I mentioned the fartsucker because, depending on how thick you make the sealer, it can take a while to dry without a lot of ventilation.

I saw it. Same one pictured on Bryson's book...

I'm about 50/50 on making it right now. It's an 8 hr drive from DC and I don't know when I'll be able to leave on Friday...but it's still a possibility.

Weather.com is calling for rain...just like last time! Can't dampen this group's spirits though.

Tim, hopefully lots o' good pictures all around. I'm bringing 2 disposable cameras along with my digital. I'm sure plenty of others will bring theirs as well. We're coning down to it, Hot Springs is right around the conrner. I'm even considering leaving Lexington a day early and staying in Hot Springs an extra night.

Gotta watch out for those Grizzlies in NC, they'll sneak up on ya every time. Especially right in the middle of town. Thank goodness for Ed and his ax. You realize we're obligated to post a Grizzly watch at the campsite now, right? Volunteers besides me?
