Oh yeah, I also want to mention that I plan on bringing both Kiba and Tala for this one. They both love people.

I believe that a big part of the trail is shut down for the Deer hunting season.

Hiking during Deer Season is not on my list of "must-do stunts".

I can do the weekend of October 27/28, 2012. The weekends on either side of that have "must attend" events for me. If we do schedule it for that weekend, I'll probably go up a day or two early.
IIRC, all the SHT is not closed during deer season, but large portions are closed, typically including some of the state parks.
EDIT: I now realized that the Winter Camping Symposium is the weekend of October 27/28. I should have noted that earlier. I'm also available November 10/11.

We have the Winter camping Symposium the weekend of the 26th and hunting season will be happening for the next two weekends.
It sounds like the weekend of the 19th-21st will work out for most people. However, not everyone is going to the WCS and that should be considered as well.
So, it sounds like we have a choice for the weekend of the 19th and the weekend of the 26th. I think I'm going to start a new thread and throw up a poll with some dates.
