    Playing With my Hammock

Took my hammock set up to the park yesterday to learn how to rig it quicker and get some practice at it before I set out to the backcountry. As been mention in previous threads about the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro, the bug net for this hammock is HUGE. So, I had a suspension idea about taking the stretchy cord it came with it and use one cord to rig it all together. What do you think? Ran it through the tabs, loop through the carabiner, then back to the tabs and tied it off at the other carabiner. I also only used one side tied out to open the hammock. I've learned a few things yesterday about setting up the hammock and tarp. Experience is the best teacher.

Looks good. I swapped out the suspension on my SBP for woopies/toggles and tree straps. Also I have a removable ridge line that goes through the bug net. This works great for me because if I don't need the bug net I just disconnect the ridge line and flip the hammock over and reconnect. Happy Hanging.

    Enjoy!

Another thing to try to give more room with the bugnet is to modify the bugnet suspension to hold a couple of sticks and then use a small amount of bungee like the claytor hammock:

I think some have posted these mods on HF.

I like it, I have the same tarp, works great. One question, what are you using to tie out the tarp with? Looks like really heavy line, may be the photo?

Same tarp, same hammock. Try the removable ridgeline that Bondo suggests. Buffalo Skipper has a thread taking you step by step. works great. You just have to be careful going through the netting. The snffed match trick works perfectly.
