    Hi from southern New Mexico

Brian here, not new to hammocks, but reading here it feels like I am. It is going to take months to learn all the acronyms and shorthand you all use...lol

I am an old retired guy and travel a lot. My dog and I just returned from a 9,000 mile motorcycle/sidecar tour of the west coast and part of southern BC.

I'll try to include a pic of one of our camps along the way...

My favorite hammock is a handmade one of palm fiber twine I bought from a nice woman in a tiny Peruvian village on the Amazon but the one I use for travel is a Hennessey something or other.

Anyway, good to be here and I will be learning from you all...just looking around I have learned some good stuff....

    Thanks for having me along...

If you can see it in this photo, my hammock is attached at one end to a pole I carry on the rig and that fits into a couple brackets so I always have one hammock end taken care of....easier to find one tree or post as you well know

Welcome from Florida! I like your hammock suspension
Happy travels to you! You could do a road trip by going to all the group hangs listed in the "trip planning" section of the forums and meet everyone. I'm envious!

I know this is real old... I am trying to learn about where to hang my hammock when I get my Ural w sidecar. It seems like anyplace I attach it would be too low? I figure I should start looking at HOW I could do this with just "one" tree, or other close by pole. I always "could" carry a small tent and pad for those cases, but I really don't wanna :-( Any ideas?
