Hey that's great! Since you're already inserting y'all, I think you're off to a good start.

Glad you can join in on the fun too! I started with some low cost gear that I rounded up in thrift stores for some of my kits until I knew more of what worked and what I wanted. Keep it simple for starters, then build as you see fit.

Again, glad to have you along. Please sign in on the participant spreadsheet as we are trying to get a good head count.

Jim, you beat me to the punch.

+1 on all of the above.

mortonjl and Beverly, Texas longhorns and I will be out there for a Sub24 recon 10/20-21 and although it's a drive, if anyone wants a test run, I'd be happy to help with some gear set up and trials.

Several folks are heading out that way from the group that was planning to hike the LSHT so there may be a chance to see some other set ups too.

Yes, its a good start and an indication of a deep and laudable desire for assimilation. But a minor problem with syntax should be pointed out.

The plural of "y'all" is "all y'all"

LOL! This is just the beginning...just enough to get a newbie out into the middle of a cultural minefield. Did I say, "culture?"

    Hope there is still room

Bob and I tried to make reservations online last night for a spot. Trouble making a reservation and getting our texas state parks pass discount doing it online. We will try again Monday by phone. In the meantime, if someone wants to share their spot and the expenses with some newbies, please let us know and we will gladly join you.

Hopefully we will have one hammock by then (it has been shipped). The other of us will have to use a tent.

I have a spot reserved. JRS and I will be in it. I should have room for 2 more. Your more than welcome to share mine. Jut let me know so I can let the park rangers know the number at my site.
