The "Official" poll for the 3rd annual (2009) Mt Rogers Hangout.

Check the one weekend you would like to have it!

As usual, majority rules.

If you are hard set on another shelter or site than the Wise shelter, speak up.

This is intended as a COLD WEATHER camping experience, so come prepared. So far our record is 5 or 15 degrees, depending on whose thermometer you believe. Many of us hope for 0 degrees, maybe this year we will get "Lucky".

Everyone brings something for the Sat PM cookout. as the date approaches we will open a thread for who is bringing what.

The "Event" is open to hammockers or tenters or you can stay in the shelter or whatever! Be warned we will quietly (or not so) try to convert you to hammocking! It is an approximately 1.0 mile hike in from the parking lot, so if it gets too cold for you, you can always (without loss of honor) go to your car to warm up.

FYI: If you want to vote for Jan 2, 3, 4, remember that Ed Spear has his Springer Mt Hangout Dec 31 & Jan 1!

I dunno, my calander on the puter don't list the holidays. Plus I dont get holidays @ work, AND I'm oblivious anywy.

Very few hangers will be attending the SORUCK....

Some of these type conflicts need to be accepted or hangs will be religated to "off weekends" as there are already events or almost all of the three day weekends such as the rucks....

Like Darby said, I'm not going to vote (yet anyway), because I'll be planning to try & make it what ever weekend works best for most.
But I'm kinda liking the looks of the 4th weekend though 23rd-25th).

I think y'all would enjoy it greatly. We have a good time hanging out, talking, looking at hammocks.
And some may even take a day hike on Sat. Hope to see ya there.
