My Fluorescent Hammock Creation

So I thought I would share my first real DIY project with the HF crew. My wife finally wanted a hammock after me getting my ENO DN, and so when I learned to sew, this was the first project I undertook. At least she'll be seen when people are hiking through.

The only thing that I'm still trying to figure out is how to whip the ends. I can either whip the ends like the WB blackbird or use the sewn channels to do a loop through like ENO does. the only thing that will help me determine which to go with will be the easiest to integrate a sewn in bug net and ridgeline. any thoughts?

Definitely try out the comfort level and overall feel for both configurations...some folks prefer end-channels and the lay it gives, but yet the highly popular Warbonnet, HH, Wilderness Logics etc. all utilize whipped ends (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Some even use the Knotty gather, channels at the end for uniform gathering while it all ends up in a whipping anyway.

I think the integrated bugnet might work better on a whipped end...ridgeline is real easy to integrate into a whipped end also....

I don't see any reason to use one method over the other, as they will both work for what you are describing. I personally like the end channel method better, as I find the lay feels more comfortable, and no calf ridge. Again, it is all preference.
I personally don't use permanent bugnets, so others here who do will be able to give you a better idea on integrating with a end channel versus gathered end.

Nice looking work! You should call it "The Big Apple"!

Your end channels look much like the ones on my DIY double, and I ended up running a Amsteel continuous loop through them, twice actually, before doing the larkshead. I am another who uses a detachable bugnet (the TED by Pipsissewa), so I can't be much help there, but wanted to say your work looks really good.
