I have been researching underquilts and I find that her quilts are pretty good. I have not used and was thinking of ordering one.
Can anyone comment on her hammocks? I read the few on her website.
I am debating about ordering a 30* X 48"long with a few extra ounces of down.

I wish I had enough back stock to offer a sale. I like to stay in a 5 day ship time on orders. Last year got kinda crazy during the holiday season and ship times were long.

I would not recommend more than an ounce of overstuff on a 48" UQ. If you add 2 or more ounces to the 30* UQ you would be better off going to the 15* UQ which would have more loft and be about the same price.

Thanks for the interest and have a good holiday weekend.

Awsome. I agree. I did the math after I posted. You still have the most affordable quilts and I like that!

    I have a couple of Leigh's UQs.

I'd discourage putting her in a bind with a polite public answer. I'd urge you get a quilt to meet your temperature needs, selling the one you have. Why? $15-$20 in shipping and handling, RT. Then there's the cost to opening a seam for every one of the chambers. (Or cleverly incising every one, injecting down, and resealing, with an implied guarantee it looks good and will continue to perform.) Or maybe you have all the UQ warmth you need just by adding some $20-$30 long johns.

These are fine quilts, and as I was about to post elsewhere, Leigh's R&D team has come up with, the lightest and best mix and location of stretch and no-stretch UQ suspension parts. IMO, of course. I haven't pushed Leigh's 30F quilt with that suspension yet, but there was no loss of comfort @ 37F compared to some barely overstuffed 20F fractional UQs, Leigh's and one from HG.

It is possible and I sent you a PM for Leigh who is traveling this weekend. We can always come up with a solution to make sure you have a quilt that meets your needs.

Overstuffing will not give you much of a gain in temp rating. It will stabilize the down and help as the quilt ages to retain loft.

The quilt has been plenty warm aside from one night where I left my tarp in porch mode. The wind shifted and I woke up to a very slight chill on my back. Adding some overstuff to stabilize the down sounds like exactly what Im looking for.

After a few weeks of research i think i am decided on a leighlo 15 degree, 66 inch uq for my Fall/winter UQ. Love my te-wa breeze for the summer but i'm excited for opening up my options for camping in the winter here in NJ/NY.

now if it wasn't out of stock... will be waiting patiently =]

I cannot say enough good about Leighlo quilts. I really liked the green/brown combination but were out of stock, and I had a trip coming up with temps in the low 20's to upper teens. To make a long story short, fabric was ordered , Leighlo made a 66" 15* quilt and shipped it to me in time for the camping trip. Easy to dial it in and no CBS. Only WBS at 18*. Sweet!
