The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health doesn't seem to agree with you about the safety of nanotechnology either:

Here is another link as well on the research. A few friends of mine here in Oakridge have been keeping an eye on this for a good while now. One of the facilities where theologicial testing is done is right here near me. They also test enviromental paterns as well, but the nano testing is very interesting. One of the companies here has built a facility to start testing other nano posibilities. I'm interested in it becuase of what it may do for cancer research.

    Theologicial testing? What is that?

Ha i removed mine remembering this is a hammock site and not worth it to argue over . Being a microbiology and chemical engineering double major at OSU I love when i get to work in nanotechnology there is a ton of room for amazing advancements!

Nanotechnology is like anything else, good/bad.

    I understand your skepticism, SSurfer

However, there are plenty of things that are more of danger in my opinion than a spray of waterproofing. Nanotechnology can definitely be used improperly if in the wrong hands, but it's here nonetheless, thus I embrace the good it can bring. MUST SEE VIDEO on how nanobots are going to take out cancer!!

Let's get back OT please. The topic is not actually about what could cause cancer. Thanks.

I first saw this stuff almost a year ago. They mentioned a release date of 2012 once early in testing but since then there has been zero mention of ever sending this product to market. All I see is the occasional short video of some odd object coated in this stuff being dipped in chocolate syrup.

When is this projected to come out? It could presumably be used in many different backpacking applications from tarps to waterproofing down and fleeces. Maybe even a non-stick coating more effective then teflon. I wonder if it is breathable

With the nucular plant in Japan gone bad and who knows how much we're getting, the nano's presented in the add are the least of my worries.
But does the garment breath after application? If so I'm in.
