Finally after 3rd attempt at getting my ridgeline closer to where it should be. 1st attempt trees to far apart and way to big " ran outta strap".

2nd attempt was getting closer but sure thought it possible for RL to snap.
more searching to do.

3rd and final attempt more frustrated. But searching last night had read where someone " sorry don't remember who" did the feet end at eye level and the head end at nipple level. This worked like a charm. Didn't stake sides out but feet dropped into lowered footbox. would staking solve this?? But it's such a relieve after spending money that i really didn't have on a item that was starting to 2nd guess would ever work. would say the drop to footbox was in the area of 4 to 7 inches probably just gotta dial in a hair more but so much happier that it really is gonna work now.

maybe someone with better instruction creating could explain this test a little easier and possibly getting it STICKIED

I have found my WBBB to be most comfortable with the foot end about 6" above the head end, assuming that the distance from hammock to tree is the same at both ends.

+1 on what Mike said. I always raaise the foot end some (even in my other hammocks).

Unfortunately, everyone assumes this is common knowledge, and it really isn't. For myself, I learned this by doing a lot of research before I bought my Blackbird. Everyone does something a little different, so we come together here and share that bit of knowledge, and hopefully pickup something new that we can apply to our own experiences. Nothing wrong with asking questions.

Good to hear you found what works in this scenario.

Practice, practice, practice with different angles, different distances, etc.

This will not work if the distance from hammock to tree is different for your head and foot end as Madd777 mentions.

If the hammock is completely level and the head end of your hammock is further from your head end tree, your head end will sag lower than your foot end when you lay in it.

If the hammock is completely level and the foot end of your hammock is further from your foot end tree, your foot end will sag lower than your head end when you lay in it.

Give the above a try and let us know how it comes out.
