Thumbs up Helpful hint for ironing a seam

A few months ago, I thought up a convenient way of keeping track of my pins as I ironed the seams on my first DIY hammock. Since I don't have a wrist mounted pin holder and I kept spilling the cup with the pins in it I decided to grab one of the rare earth magnets from our fridge and put it on the ironing board. Then I dumped the pins on to the magnet and viola! It worked great and I promptly forgot about it.

Flash forward to two mornings ago as I was ironing the rolled seam into my latest hammock, a 1.9 DL DIY. I was standing there, wishing I had another set of hands when I noticed that the magnet was still there. I just wonder...
Since my ironing board is metal the two 1/2 inch RE magnets hold quite strongly and they provided the extra hand I needed.

Maybe this is an old trick for some of you but I was quite proud of myself. On the off chance that I could contribute something back to this great forum I figured I would post a photo and explain what I figured out.

    Enjoy- Sarge

Dude you just made my light come on. Can't tell you how many times while folding grosgrain ribbon I wished I had an extra hand. Thank for the idea.
