    Storing the Cuben Tarp

I know I have read it somewhere, but I cannot find it again. What is the best way to store the cuben tarp? I have no intention of stuffing or using skins, but how exactly do you take it down and store from the wilds?

I have tried a couple of times, but always seem to fold it too big, even when the first fold is small. I don't want to roll, as the stuff sack is flat and square.

    Suggestions?

I setup a cuben tarp yesterday to test folding. Start by detaching one end from tree. I took that end & folded about a 12" section - was pulling on it to keep it tight as I folded.. continued to fold - sort of like a map. Once I got to the other end.. I detached that. lied it on the ground & continued to fold till it fit in stuff sack. clear as mud eh?

just found the pic - hope it works.
I started from the doorway - folded in - then folded over again to the other side - kept going till I got to the other end.. seemed easy & worked for me. curious too how others attack it?

that will work, just keep folding until it fits the stuff sack. I would change it up over time since you shouldn't fold it the same way everytime...or so they say...ever wonder who they is

I just roll mine up to the ridgeline and secure the roll with two pieces of shock cord on cord locks, then stuff it in a stuff sack. No problems yet.

I have three titanium D-rings on my ridge line tie outs, one at each end and one in the middle. I use a CRL so fold it into quarters whilst still hung, drop one end off the tree and then drop the tarp to the ground and fold it as narrow as my stuff sack. Then I just roll down from the ridgeline to the bottom, pushing the air out as I go.

Just flatten the roll and then it slips in the stuff sack nicely, easy to deploy the nest time too. I hank my CRL into to two figure 8 loops around my thumb and little finger.

I just got my new cuben tarp, and I have only set it up 2x inside to rig it with guys. The last time I tried it, it was better than the first, but I am headed out in the morning for a weekend of hiking and hanging. Just trying to figure it out beforehand as much as possible...

Are you's referring to storing while hiking?
What about at home. Do you leave your Cuben Tarp folded in it's pouch or pack out of pouch?

On the Trail I use snake skins

At home I fold it loosely and store it in one of those huge tupper wear bins drawers that I use to organize all my gear and every couple of weeks I take it out shake it out and refold it on different creases. Yes I am a bit OCD about my gear.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
