I'm a car camper with aspirations of being a backpacker. The biggest thing keeping me tethered to the car is how to pack everything appropriately. The hammock and insulation isn't such a big deal. One issue is packing my tarp. I love my Kelty Noah's 12. It's versatile and provides lots of coverage. Once I start getting the hang of toting this stuff into the woods on my back, I may decide to go with something smaller. But for now, its great.

Currently, I'm packing it back in the sack it came with. The ridgeline and guylines are still attached and I've folded it in halves lots of times to get it down to the size I need to get it in the sack. When it was new, the sack was too big, but now it fills it completely.

Have any of you tried different sized compression sacks or folded/rolled/wadded it up differently? Just looking for a bit of guidance. Thanks!
