Hello from South Western PA

Hello, I’ve been a forum “lurker” for almost a year. I found this forum when researching lightweight backpacking techniques. After several trips this past summer I’ve noticed that I am just not sleeping that well anymore and am constantly tossing and turning. I also witnessed a storm in Canada (BSA Summer Camp) a few weeks ago that was like nothing I’ve seen in over 30 years of camping. Even though tents were set up in decent locations, there was so much water that it had nowhere to go but “up”.

These few experiences have me thinking of leaving the ground. That being said, does anyone know of any hammock camping groups in South Western PA (I live in Pittsburgh but willing to travel a little)? I would like to see some setups before buying anything.

Welcome from Morgantown, WV! Haven't noticed any groups in Pittsburgh area but the MAHHA would be appox. 3.5 hour drive for you. There are some hangs in Ohio every so often too. There's a Hammock Forums map of people that you should check to see who is closest to you. You could organize a get together!
