Hey guys, I'd like to tag along. I've got the approval of the Spousal Unit, just need to put in for time off at work. So, if you don't mind, count me in.

So many trees, so little time!

After a late start and a flat tire I am on my way to scout this loop out. Everybody have a great weekend

For those of us arriving late Thursday night are we camping at the same place as last year?
BSF Reunion Hike and Hang=BSFRHH
Just got back from scouting the trail. I only stayed one night and mile monstered my way through it. MM looking forward to seeing you and Poof, and yes, thursday arrivals will be camping in the same place although we will have to drive to the trailhead. Not too far though. Great scenery on the way in and I did find a few suitable places to camp on Laurel Fork Creek. The spot I bunked in gets my vote! Plenty of room for last years group size plus. More if we spread out a bit, plus a good water supply....oh yeah, and if JoeyB comes, truckloads of downed wood. The trails are mostly in good shape. I did find a few trees down, but they were small and easily crossed. The hike came in at just under 20 miles as near as I could tell, so 6-7 miles a day makes for easy hiking and plenty of time to relax in camp. I stopped at the Charit Creek Hostel and was pleasantly surprised to find there is a very friendly fellow from Knoxville who stays there full time to oversee the place. A former restaraunt owner and I must say a pretty good cook. So we can make it a point to have a meal there if we so choose. All in all, I think its going to be a good time and look forward to seeing old friends again as well as meeting new ones. Happy hanging guys!

Wow on the recon Spammy. Seriously good info by you.
While hiking will we be near Charit Lodge (and food from there) on Friday night or Saturday night? Just trying to plan the meals, or will it be going there at the end of the hike? Seems like you have to hike there one way or another.
JoeyB are you listening?
Now just think if Wisenber AND Roche are both there we'll all need body wraps for the ribs from laughing so hard!
Wisenber has already told me a big kinda NO to him in the sock Just will be too hot for him. I'll have to find a meat freezer to put him and the sock in for testing.
BSFRHH woohoo.
I leaning toward yes!
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.
Charit Lodge is 1.8 miles from the Twin Arches trailhead on the return side of the loop, so it would be a saturday evening meal. I'm definitely looking forward to a big temperature drop. I didnt cover up once the whole night...although strangly there were several times I swore I could hear an indian flute and drums off in the distance....I might be loony....
