I just traded for two GTUL's I was just wondering if it makes a good overnight hammock to use on trips.
Thanks,

Everyday above the ground is a good one.
Did a double take. Eyesight must be going bad here. First thought you had traded for 2 GIRLS. Keep the GTULs; they are cheaper in the long run.

I used to have a GT UL hammock, it was great and I had a few good nights sleep in it.

It's always best if your an early riser!
Slept in a GT UL for about 6-9 months of camping (15 nights or so). Worked great until it started getting colder (Nov-Dec).
Just get a closed foam pad to put underneath you (and maybe a short section of pad for your shoulders) and you should be OK.
With a head net you can rock this setup pretty well.

I've slept in them before...
I definitely make an attempt to get a bigger hammock for sleeping.
It will work, and its a great option given its size/weight/price... But its a little small to be most peoples goto sleeper.
They are great for what they are (cheap and light). I used one as my primary hammock for several months and slept just fine. I have a longer hammock now, but there is nothing wrong with the GTUL.
If you ain't havin' fun, you're doin' it wrong
I can't say enough about the GTUL. I have two of them and use both for camping. If you haven't done so yet, swap out the original suspension for whoopies and tree straps.

How tall are you? I'm 6'1" and I can't sleep a whole night in mine. I've tried almost a dozen times, and not one of them was a decent night's sleep. I upgraded to a GT Single and I sleep very comfortably in that. MY GTUL is now permanently in my car just in case I find myself in need of a quick nap.
