    Thermarest pads too slippery?

I have a 10-year old Thermarest pro-lite inflatable pad, and a Trek Light Gear double hammock. I saw a tip somewhere on these forums a few months back where someone mentioned how to prevent the thermarest from sliding out from underneath you. It had something to do with adding tape or glue or something to the pad to make its surface less slippery. I can't seem to find the idea anywhere now.

So my question today is, what can I do to help prevent my thermarest from sliding out from underneath me?

You can try cabinet liner, it's grippy and cheap

I think the thread you're referring to was about someone putting dots of silicone on the underside of their pad to help keep it in place.

I put stripes instead of dots but either will work just fine. The silicone caulking is just tacky enough to grip but not bad enough to stick to anything significant. If it's too tacky just dust with a bit of talc.

Try strips or dots of seam grip. Or you can make large loops or straps with some 1/8in shock cord. 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom might help.

If you want to protect your mat, I would make a big "sock" to fit over the mat, (insert it when limp then inflate when it's in the sock to ensure it's got a good fit). Then add the silicone dots or whatever onto the sock. I've been using the non-slip mats you can get for putting on tables:

I hot glue it onto the sock. Careful though- don't run your hands over the rubber mesh after you've put the hot glue on... The glue gets through the holes and burns your paws

Does anyone know how well does a Thermarest Z-Lite keep you warm in cooler weather? Like down to around or just below freezing?

I use a trimmed piece of non slip carpet mat. Helps keep the pad in place with very little weight.

Thermarest will have less condensation than the foam! Which will keep you warmer!
