    hello

    my name is scott.

i'm new to hammock camping. decided to give it a try after running across shug's videos on you tube. first saw his vids a while ago. made my own hammock outta some ripstop nylon, and found it to be very comfy for lounging around while tent camping. so saved up for my first hammock set up. i got a eno one link dbl nest. (i know not the greatest but it will do for now) wish i could camp more often but am limited due to an injury (that will never improve).

so far i'm using a pad and sleeping bag. but hope to someday get an over/under quilt. would try to make one but have no sewing mach. but i did make my own whoopie slings. i do work with paracord alot so have some skill with knots.

If you like the DIY route, thrift stores and yard sales are good places to find sewing machines. Welcome to HF from Ga.

I've learned hammock camping can be done very inexpensively. The trouble is...it is an addiction and those with a DIY fettish just cant leave well enough alone. Don't ask me why I know this. :-)

Welcome from Canada! Too bad about your injury but a hammock seems to be better for those with various injuries vs a tent.
