Great videos- Both times I have been to Greylock the weather has been foul- rain turned to sleet and the other a temp drop of 30 leaving us shaking up a storm in our 20 degree bags in 7deg temps and 25 mph consistent winds.. i shudder thinking about it.
I really like those ponchos. You did a really nice job on them.

Thanks for watching. The weather is pretty unpredictable on the mountain sometimes.

The ponchos turned out pretty good. Thanks for the compliment.

    nice trip report Raifnuke !!

A hike in the rain is better than no hike at all in my book.

About the ponchos'... did you find you were getting a little muggy/ damp in them while hiking? I know i've hiked in major rain storms in just t shirt and shorts with no rain gear and just let it dry out later. I always concidered the poncho more of an around camp/ hanging out rain gear thing.
I would like to know what you think.

    Matt.

Well as with all things non-breathable, you get sweaty while hiking. But for me, compared to a rain jacket, it was a huge improvement, especially with the zipper mod! I found there was much more ventilation and my pack stayed dry without a separate pack cover. YMMV.

    Thanks for taking me back!
I cheated when gong through that section and stayed at the Bascom Lodge.
That is a swarthy looking character you're hiking with! HA! I left my car at his
mom's house when I was hiking in Mass...kind woman and son!
Were those bear bells I heard? Tell me no!
What is the pendant your wearing on the chain--looks very cool.
    Thanks again for the vids/memories.

Yes, that is a bear bell you hear. But, IT IS NOT FOR BEARS! It is so that my dog Hunter, the one wearing the pack, doesn't sneak up and surprise people on the trail. He has scared a few people before I put the bell on him. He didn't do anything, he just walked up the trail and rounded the corner right into some people, and he is a good sized dog, and startled them. He just kept walking and looked back at me with a look that said "What is wrong with them?"
    The pendant is Thor's Hammer.

Yep, even though I live close by, I have parked at that swarthy fellow's mom's house before. Nice people.

I am glad you enjoyed the videos/memories. I hope you can get back this way sometime.

Sorry for the delay. I only had a few decent pics from this trip. I have to learn how to take a picture.
