Silly question. Is the primary difference (other than material) the length that makes it a Brazilian?

Pete.
The opinions expressed by this user are not those of a competent individual. If they were that would mean I know what I am talking about.
Essentially, yes.
Brazilians are large hammocks and the use of multiple ropes that go from the end of the fabric to an eye (where suspension is attached) makes it feel even bigger.

Very very nice. Thanks for posting. I had at one time wanted to put my hammock indoors, but my rooms are tiny. A Brazilian looks like it might work.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Floppy sides? Wasn't that what started us on the discussion that produced the side-stretch mod? Ask Dutch.
You lost me there old friend. Who mentioned floppy sides?

I'm guessing he was referring to the original comments about there being so much extra material and possible future material removal. I just ordered one of these big tablecloths to do this but I'll probably sew channels instead of the accordion method (I'll probably even add a mini spreader bar to it). I've been putting it off too long
I sleep in an ENO DN right now and I know I've seen lots of people complain about floppy sides on those and even people that cut the extra strips of material off (I really don't understand that... I would just buy a different hammock in the first place). I love the extra material and use it for added head support when I have my head towards the sides or if I'm watching tv. I usually just fold the outer 6 inch strip of material under the hammock and it becomes an extra support and stays in place. I do the same thing on my big mayan hammock too.
It will be interesting to see how the material feels. I love the feel of the material that they use for the DN but am looking forward to a bignormous hammock to sleep in every night (although I do love my DN so I can always go back to using that).

"Tablecloth Brazilian" really doesn't sound like it belongs in a family forum.
I prefer to remain an enigma.
Post # 1: Post # 17: You did! Maybe it needs the brilliant Knotty side mod!
I have both a 90x156 polyester and a 60x 126 crinkle taffeta hammock. I found the polyester difficult to slide around on. It "grabbed" my clothes when I went to move around and I got all bawled up, socks, pants legs, underwear, shirts--all twisting around! And that was just a day hammock! So I retired it and I'll stick to my crinkle taffeta ones.
I wonder if anyone has made a double layer crinkle taffeta just for strength (not for inserting a pad). I would consider making a new living room lounger this way just for strength and longevity. Although, my single layer crinkle taffeta is still going strong after many months of nightly use.
