    I wish . . . .

I grew up in Utah (Manti) and spent a lot of time in the mountains there, never in the uintahs, though. I'll actually be in Provo next week for an academic conference, but I only have one day free, and I've gotta see some family on that day. I wish i could join you -- makes me homesick to think about it . . . .

RTR, as we drove past the north side of the Uintahs on the way to the Winds about 3 weeks ago, it looked like there was already a ton of snow up high. Actually, there seemed to be a lot more than there was on the west side of the winds.

Although, unless there has been some new snow since, most of that has probably melted by now. But, it was still there on 9/11/08.

I just left Logan yesterday, I was born there. (The snow that BillyBob spoke of has melted.) I didn't do much hiking during the past two months that I was there (too busy making art).

My mom said the hospital room where I was born had a view of the Uintas. It's a beautiful place. Enjoy!
