    Not Much Flat

    Hey!

Been a tarp camper for years, tent camper for decades prior to that.

Recently went on a backpacking trip in Shining Rock Wilderness Area and couldn't help but notice the literal 'thousands' of places to hang whereas there were only a handful of spots flat enough for ground dwelling.

Been pondering trying a hammock for years ( I have a tendency to let months, or even years, go by while I ponder a purchase.....took me about two years to decide to buy a Gregory Forester many years ago, Used that on this recent trip...).

I figured it's time to jump in. Interestingly many of the cottage industries are in this area and with the steepness of the terrain, it doesn't surprise me !

Backpacking for decades and I also ride a dual sport bike.

I teach self defense, fitness and outdoor skills.

Welcome from SC, and look forward to you coming aloft with us. Hanging is the ultimate. Check out a group hang if you can, and this will help you with gear selection, and everyone will be happy to provide you with all the information you can digest.
