I just ordered a polyester-silicone tarp with dimensions of 4,4 m x 4,4 m (14,4 ft x 14,4 ft). Weight is hefty 1,9 kg (67 oz). Polyesters is heavier than nylon but it should not stretch when wet. The diagonal is about 6,3 m (20 feet).
The idea is to use it pitched very high as a diamond shape tarp during summer. Just four points of attachment (trees and two corners to the ground). Easy pitching and easy to go in and out from hammock and around camp site (I hate those guy lines everywhere when walking around camp).
So, what will happen?
- Do those ground tie outs get pulled out in very low wind?
- Ridgeline will be horrible saggy and collect water.
- It will flap whole night and I do not get any sleep.
- Guy line points will broke in heavier wind.
- Everything will be OK.
- "Your own suggestion".
Make Your bet now, I will report back when The Tarp arrives!
