That's more experience than me! Drywall and some minor step repair is about all I've done. But I know how to read a measuring tape and I can swing a hammer

You can insert this into google maps and it should take you to it. Take a look and see if this is correct.

If you do decide to do this and you wait till next spring to tackle the initial construction then id be more than willing to drive the 9hours from VA and lend a hand for a few days. It could be a group hang and we could all pitch in a hand to help out while we enjoyed each others company for a few days. A few Out-Houses or as we like to say where I am from "The Necessary," would be good to have in various places on the property. You could even build a few small inclosures to be used for make-shift showers. You wouldn't have to start big or anything. Start with few small things like the "Necessaries" and maybe next year, build a decent size Adirondack Shelter for a "Common area."
    Just tossing out few ideas.

OUTSTANDING, this is just what i hoped for, we're on the same page.

Fantastic idea. I could see HOCs popping up all around the country.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

I'd be in for some man-hours in exchange for some time on site with the famliy at a later date. I'm an OK carpenter...better biologist, but that's less likely to be applicable here.

I'm for more inclusion of hammocks into the mainstream. I think that a hammock only campground is a step in the wrong direction. HYOH.

Deffinately HYOY... But I have to disagree here... It's no more a step in the wrong direction than a whitewater park for kayakers...

Or an RV park for RVs...

    Just sayin'

Yeah, I don't think it's THAT big of a deal. I mean, unless parks started designating large portions of land as H.O.C., I don't see it turning people off.

There is plenty of regular parks for the ground dwellers..They will not miss 20 acres of land..I think this is a great idea. I hope you stick with it.
