I don't see any real issues with a hammock only park. I know many RV parks that allow tents to be pitched. I personally don't see the need for a hammock only park. How much harder would it be to allow tents? I wouldn't be any more interested in a hammock only park than a normal camp ground. I wouldn't mind staying in one, but I'm not going to go out of my way. HYOH. Make the investment and see what the market will support. You wont know until you try.

I avoid the mainstream like the plague. It is, however, where the money is.

Indeed let them roll,Your pics remind me of my place of rasing, Lead Hill Ark. good ole Bull Shoals.... I am trying to avoid the mainstream and im not doing this for the money, even though it is a necessary evil. I have rode to wave of debt in my life and for me the simple life with with NO debt (as green acres would say) is the only life for me. I am more interested in collecting friends than "things"

Just for fun I drew up some Plans for a "Necessary."

If you use google Sketch Up I can send you the actual file so you will have all exact measurements and cut-angles if you wanted to use it. Plus you can see exactly how much materials you will need. Great little tool.

Granted all the textures can be changed around for different looks, its just the basic design your going for. I designed the roof around a Diamond shaped Tarp to try and tie it into the Hammock Theme alittle. The inside has little to be desired for and can be customized for a more homy feel afterwards.

I may make an Adirondack Shelter design also. I actually really enjoy using this program for some reason. Maybe I should have chosen a different profession..lol

Amen! I'm the only one of my friends who doesn't have an Xbox or big screen TV. However, I am the only one with enough gear to survive the zombie apocalypse

Thank You for your comments: This H.O.C. would not be about "no tents" its
about " hammocks only" if a person(s) came to our H.O.C. with a tent we would offer them a complimentary full set up hammock( as suggested by "full timer") so they might enjoy what we do,maybe "elevate their perspective" if they refused and needed a nights sleep to be on their way, that we would offer, but our name says enough.

PERFECT, THANKS so much. What im going for is reclaiming old barns and buidings for wood and looks. I want to stay close to traditional appalachain theme as well as the hammock theme. Your spot on.

I have ideas of building a (private or public) primitive hammock only campground (H.O.C.) and a 1 mile trail and would like any comment or suggestions ya'll might have. I very much believe in personal freedoms and that would be exercised on this property. The Cumberland trail will be coming within 2 miles of this property, we also have many other trails in the area.We have many outdoor things to do in this area as well.

The 1st pic shows the main fire spot, most of the clearing for this area is done, now we are workin our way around the creek. The second pic is the creek at its lowest.
    Great idea! Maddog
