    NX-250 and Kelty Noah tarp?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a NX-250.
I have the 9, 12, and 16' Kelty tarps, plus a GG 12' on hand. The no rain fly option will save $55.
    Pros/Cons?
    Will I be lacking coverage?
The hammock will be used for motorcycle and car camping, so weight and size is not a huge issue.

I would go out and test each tarp and see what suits your situation best. My personal opinion is the GG 12 will be best, you can close it up fully and has more versatility for hammocks compared to Keltys. The Kelty 9 would be great for fair weather as a diamond tarp as well. Kelty 12 and 16 would be good for Cat Cut option, you can close them but not fully like the GG, they will have a gap. Good luck.

If you already have the tarps you would save a few bucks on the hammock. I use the Noah 12 with my Clark and have plenty of coverage.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

    Thanks for the replies.
It looks like I will have a new use for one of the 12 footers.

The 8' x 11" tarp is worth more than the $55 allowance for declining it. And, you will likely pay the same shipping for the hammock, so why not just pay once?

The wider "Vertex" tarp, available as a $20 upgrade gives close to the same coverage and is arguably the equal in design and execution to other excellent silnylon 11 x 10 tarps from others.

In length both of these Clark tarps are more than adequate for the 9' NX-250 hammock. After all, it also has 18" long hoods over the ends to shield from rain spray.

I'll back that with an offer to buy the XL tarp from you for the allowance + shipping.
