Help with Whoopies and Tarp

I watched Shug and now I'm a happy guy.

Well, actually not that happy as I've watched them all and I'm hanging out for new ones like a granny waiting for tomorrows The Bold & the Beautiful.

It's one of those confessions. You just have to come to terms with it.

Seriously though you can hang cheap and you can hang expensive. Both can be fantastic.

Just look at the DIY stuff!!

Keep looking around the HF and it will all make sense.

You can spend a lot of $ on hammocks, but you like the last post said, you don't have to. If you DIY its cheap, fun and what you want. My next project will be my quilts.
Hang in there and have fun. If you make woopies, order a hundred feet, they are fun. Like the name emplies.

I didn't have much in my hammock setup, maybe $125. I recycled several items from ground sleeping. And could have done it cheaper if I had made my own hammock and bug net.

Of course, that changed recently when I bought top/under quilts from Hammock Gear...

I'll jump on the wagon of saying that hammocking doesn't have to be expensive. Sure if you want the 13 foot cuben fiber winter tarp and the 900FP winter quilts made of M50 you're going to spend more than others. But it seriously is not worth starting at that point IMO. I've spent less than $200 in total for all of my backpacking gear. I've made alot of it myself, or come up with alternative uses for everyday items to build my kit, but it does what I need it to do.

I'll likely never have teh newest and greatest gear, but I'm okay with that. Like all hobbies you can do it expensive or you can do it cheap. Heck, I'm learning how to work with fiberglass so that I can make a cheap lightweight internal framed backpack. My gear may not be pretty, but at least it gets plenty of use.
