Need help with whoopie structural ridgeline on straps and rings

I'm thinking of trying a whoopie structural ridgeline on my Claytor Jungle hasmmock. But I use straps through the channels, larked over descending rings, then a strap for the tree suspension, like this:

Can a whoopie be attached to this system to use as a structural ridgeline?

I tried looping the whoopie over the two loops in the channel straps but that't didn't seem to work. When the straps were tighten, it also tighten the ridgeline because it was connected to the channel loops which were connected to the rings which were connected to the tree straps.

Maybe the easier question first - how would I attache a structural ridgeline just straight amsteel, no whoopie at all? Or is it not possible with this setup?

I've watched a number of videos on the subject but none seem to address this setup.

Assuming your structural ridge line has loops on both ends, you could larks head one end around one set of rings and use like a soft shackle to attached the other end to the other rings. Or you could just pull the suspension through the loop on each end.

I larks head the fixed loop on the rings on one end and a tiny fixed loop with a Dutch ridgeline biener on the other end with the tiny fixed loop larks headed on the rings. It allows me to remove the ridge line.

I would just use the rings. They appear close enough to the ends of the hammock not to cause a problem. Your structural ridgeline shouldn't have much tension on it - just enough to keep it taut.
