The only time I ever had a real problem with chiggers was in my army days. A little chig-away did the trick. Not sure if they even sell stuff anymore, but if you can find some military grade stuff, it used to work really well.

You'll probably grow a third nipple from using that stuff.

Should I be the one to tell him that you don't have to do nail polish or nail polish remover? I could tell him that the key is to bathe and scrub the area with soap, washcloth, and hot water as soon as possible and once you have done that then they are off of you. The bites are worse the longer the bugs are on you and once you have the bites it will just take a long time for them to go away (I've found that putting high heat on my worst bites they seem to get better sooner... and it feels really good).

It could have been worse, luckily the little buggers was limited to the ankle area of my legs. I've already sprayed the clothes with parineum(sp) and that should preempt any attack at Arbuckle!

Or you could just use Permethrin. An ounce of prevention and all.

Yeah, I keep telling myself that I'll do that and even have a bottle of the Sawyer's premixed to try. But in order to keep myself totally safe from chiggers I would have a lot of clothes I would need to treat (all of my work uniforms, all of my socks, and my jeans and hiking/camping pants). One of these days I'll do it... but I'm working this weekend... out in the woods
