If there is a burn ban, is cooking still allowed on Coleman stoves?

Yes, I'm pretty sure that cooking with a wood fire is fine too but a Coleman stove shouldn't be a problem even during the deepest of a burn ban around here (and we aren't there for another 2-3 months)

    Polk Officials Issue Burn Ban

Usually cooking fires are still allowed (at least for a while). I will find out on Monday what this will mean for the "Sherpa hang cooking gang". This seems very preemptive so I think cooking fires should be fine (I seem to remember that this was how it was last year).

We might need to bring lots of marshmallows so that we can constantly be cooking over the fire. Oh yeah, Ricky Poppins can bring some Jiffy Pop (we could call it "Arbuckle Nights: The Legend of Ricky Poppy")

More info Monday evening. In the meantime we need to nail down our attendee list again. People stopped adding their names and we have LOTS of "I think I'll try to make it" but not really a food commitment. I will revive the attendance list again this evening.

Reading about the growing menu has my mouth watering. As some of you know, I am in Oaxaca Mexico, struggling to learn Spanish. I will be thinking of you next week.

MADD777, tell Ada, I said she lied when she told me Spanish was easy. Es muy dificil para me.

I also already have to back out. I was really excited for it, but I have to park cars at Flywheelers on Friday and Saturday. Stupid flywheelers. Might take my hammock out and hang it up while I'm directing traffic.

Still hoping to make this one, but the guy who was initially going to cover my Saturday shift has backed out on me. Apparently, he'd already signed up to cover another person's shift and spaced on it until I saw him on Saturday. *grumble*

Hopefully, another person at work will cover my shift on that Saturday; it's looking positive, but he wasn't able to give me a firm "yes" yet. So, I'm still up in the air. Hope to have it nailed down by this weekend.

    Sorry for the ambiguity.
