    SEHHA Sep 08 Pictures

I finally got my pictures off my camera. See them here:

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/album.php?albumid=19

You'll also see a few I took while on the trail right after the SEHHA.

Also, here is the much awaited movie: "Hanging a new tarp".

Again, thanks for posting the pics. Seems to have been a lot of double hammock setups. Gotta check this out for scouts.

    I agree with CajunHiker.
But i don't understand how the hammocks are kept apart on this picture.

I would love that setup with my son (age 4),
but i just don't get it

    Otherwise it seems great

Can someone be nice enough to explain that setup ?

    Ps, thanks for sharing.

That was Ed Speer's setup. It's a bit difficult to see but there is an aluminum (?) spreader bar keeping the two hammocks apart.

Ed's wife mentioned that it was a bit disconcerting when one of them got in/out of the other hammock - with the weight shift the other person would go up/down.

It does look like a neat idea though - I need to get another hammock so I can try it out with the wife

Thanks for embedding the movie. I searched on how to do that. Can it be done directly with an upload? The youtube really degrades the video.

The use of the spreader bars is experimental. There are some issues. For instance, one morning, Ed got up to water the bushes and Karen's hammock nearly dropped to the ground! Her hammock was also being warmed by and blocked from the cold air by Ed's and when she dropped she was immediately exposed to the cold.

Here's how to embed You Tube vids.

You can't upload videos directly to HF, but some sites like Picasa or Photobucket will allow you to host your own videos and they may allow higher quality vids.
