Thanks for the advice! I have a limited budget & lots of 'wants'. Struggling to find the lower comfort temp for the snugpak, any idea how low you've taken it?Temp rating may be the deciding factor, I believe Mats 2/3 length quilts are rated to -5C (I think). I also have my eye on an MLD Traistar for use when there are no trees, so you can see my dilemma!

+1. I only have the snugpak but it is quite fiddly, and the ends don't cinch. Also the shape (narrow ends) makes it difficult to wrap around feet and shoulders. It's well made though and once you get it in position it's great.

I was VERY warm a couple of weeks ago at 0șc in it and other people have said different things from -5c to -12c but I suppose it will depend on wether you use a bag or a top quilt .

    Hope this helps.

Thanks craige, think I may go the snugpak route & look to mod the ends to allow cinching. That way I have some money over for the Trailstar tarp.

Well I went for the 3/4 length UKHammocks UQ, we'll see about that trailstar another time. Can't wait now for it be delivered. Also ordered some amsteel for a SLS setup, due to the distance between trees in my testing ground (back garden). Pictures to follow in the new year when I've set it all up.
