Hi all
I found this forum whilst searching for ideas for making my own hammock.
I started looking into hammocks for camping after a very wet camping weekend in Wales last weekend. I was in a very small tent that pitched inner first so everything got wet, the ground was on a slope and there were thousands of slugs everywhere. Some of the other campers had tarps to give themselves some additional shelter but they still had to deal with the slope and the slugs.
When I got back I started looking into tarps and discovered DD tarps and hammocks here in the UK and a light suddenly lit above my head. Why haddent I thought of this before.
I wanted to find out more about hammock camping so I bought the book 'Ultimate Hang by Derek Hansen' and now I am hooked.
In my search for more info I found myself here.
I have never spent a night in a hammock, I have never even seen one close up so you are going to have to bear with me while I climb the learning curve to elevated perspectives.
Aman
