NeoAir Trekker, 25"x47" and WBBB = cush

OK, I am not the hard guy I once was. Back in the day I used the typical 3/8" ensolite pad on hard ground. But now I seek cush - hence my love of hammocks.

I abhor the idea of going to ground, but until now I couldn't think of a good way to provide insulation in my WBBB 1.7 double and also have reasonable comfort if I needed to hit the ground. Then I saw this:

and thought "Ah Hah!". A true epif....epuf....epiph.....a great idea. This pad is 25" wide x 47" long. Enough for coverage shoulder to knee, and wide enough for side sleeping. Heck, my JRB Torso pad is only an inch longer and an inch wider and it works well (but not so comfy for my aging bones when used on the ground).

The NeoAir can be inflated rigidly or softened to suit your preference. It packs up into the size of a Nalgene pint bottle and weighs 16 oz.

This is perfect, wish it either had a higher rvalue or was lighter but size wise you cant beat it. I'm using a medium Xtherm with two zlite wings shockcorded around, whole thing weighs a hair over 16, but this would be easier to carry.

I have HG 3/4 3 season and full length winter UQs, but for bikepacking I wanted a compact solution. Rest assured, when the temps drop I will put the NeoAir in storage.

Just saying, having two neoairs, you can add 1/8 or 1/4 inch ccf pad (you know, the ones Gossamer Gear sells) under the NeoAir and drastically increase its range.
For me even 25 inches was not quite wide enough. I guess it depends on how wide an individual is in the shoulders and I wear 48+ suit coat....so 27 inches I found to be the minimum for me.... So the NeoAir(s) are retired unless I go above tree line....did use it on the Rae Lakes Loop. We even packed them for the last trip and a TarpTent Double Rainbow-thankfully neither was needed.
