Zpacks sells 1/16" shock cord. (scroll down on that page too )
DIY Gear Supply sells 1/16" 'polyester draw cord'. I don't know how it compares though.
I'm not aware of anyone making shock cord smaller than 1/16".

Yea, I was only guessing at the diameter of the shock cord I have. Based on what everyone has said and posted and what products have been pointed out, I would guess it is 3/32". Not sure if 1/16" would be strong enough for my needs. Maybe I will buy some and see.
I do like that Tech Line. Is that similar to what I have seen on the Blackbird pull outs?
I also like that Z Packs has the weight/length measurements in both English and metric. Very convenient for comparison and calculation purposes.

I'm using it on my cuben tarp doors and am satisfied. I've seen it used in some videos as well. SteelerNation made a video about his Zpacks tarp here that I believe showed some.
No, it's smaller than that.

Well, if it is good enough for you and SteelerNation, it should darn well be good enough for me too.
Thanks for all these tips. Looks like I found the sources for my lines.
But tell me, do you leave your side pull outs attached all the time? Seems to me they would snag and tangle with the tarp when stowing or deploying. If you do not leave connected to the tarp, how do you connect it?

I only attach them when needed. Just keep them rolled up in a figure-8 hank otherwise.

I just noticed the orange Glowire. It lists this as 2mm. So that makes it smaller than the NiteIze reflective rope (2.5mm, I believe). How does it compare to the NiteIze?
Curious to hear from anyone who has used this line, and can comment on it? Are there any other sources of Glowire anyone can suggest?
Still working through how to set this all up on my tarp. I spoke to Dutch off the forum and he provided some excellent information (thanks, Dutch!). Feel free to offer any other ideas any of you may have on the tarp rigging....

DIYGear's glowwire is stout stuff compared to 1.75mm Zing-it. It's a bright orange with plenty of reflective fibers woven in.
Definitely heavier option than the 1.2mm tech line, but you won't be tripping over the glow wire!
My personal preference is to shy away from glowing lines (stealth camper) but I do make zipper pulls with the glow wire on my netted hammocks - makes finding those zippers fast when nature won't wait!

This is the line that I am using on the tie outs on my new cuben hex - http://litetrail.com/shop/litetrail-...e-cord-50-feet (FWIW this line is lighter than any of the z-packs line and lighter than the 1.2 tech line from DIYgearsupply), I am using the 1.2 tech line from DIYgearsupply for the prussics.
I am using the 1.4 Z-Line Slick Dyneema Cord for my ridge tie out's (using the same line for the prussics as well), I switched to two separate lines from a CRL saving the weight of the line over the middle of the tarp.
I use Dutch Hooks on the ridge tie outs.

not to get off track, but how long are folks' side pull outs say if i was to buy the tech line?
