How does the DIY IX UQ compare to 5oz CS UQ

OK looking at the two UQ's and did a search for how they compare against each other so those that have used both how do they rate? Pros for or against?

I've made 5 IX underquilts so far. Being a cold sleeper they are only good to the high 40's for me (3-4 layer). They are easy to make and are light weight.

The CS is bulkier and heavier but would probably get you to the 30's range. I made one and like it for the warmth, but it's kinda hard to compress down to a small shape. My IX UQ folds down to less than half the size.

For pure warmth, I go to my CS UQ for winter and fall and use the IX for late spring and summer.

Thanks. I am not too concerned about the weight increase and plan to DIY a pack soon anyway so making a custom pack to hold all the stuff sacks will be easy.

I have seen a couple builds on each but never really why so thanks for clearing that up.
