I'm still on so far as I know. I've got to see of I can cut out of work a little early then drive up and park at Pat's Island trailnead (about 2 hours from home). I'll be rolling into camp most likely around dark. If that doesn't work out I'll hit the road early Saturday morning.....

    Packing now.

Can you believe? I can't find all my stuff I carefully stored in early summer. This time it's my "seasoning pouch" ( milk powder, olive oil, hot sauce, salt and pepper). I clearly remember washing the containers. But it's nowhere to be found. Oh well!! At least my *** is still firmly attached. <G>

I'm leaving around noon and should arrive at Pat's Island by 2PM

Looking forward to seeing some of you again.

    I was "here"!!

I hung my hammock after deciding if here wasn't here it was here anyway!!

Finally, about 6PM or so, FLrider and emcee rolled in from a 20 mile walk starting back by Buck Lake. I was impressed. Emcee was plumb tuckered. Flrider was still wagging his tail, the young guy that he is!!

Later, at dark oclock, Zukiguy rolled in early enough to cook dinner before I went to bed at 8:30.

Sometime later LilRicky arrived. He was cooking breakfast when I got up in the AM (at 8AM!!! I can't sleep like that in my own bed at home).

We went to Silver Glen Springs to swim. Small shower ran us off around noon.

It was clear by the time we got back to camp.We went a mile or so down the "Yearling Trail" to see a sinkhole and cemetary from around 1900AD. Lilricky is a font of info, since he is a trail volunteer in this area. He says the community at Pat's Island all got their water from the bottom of the sinkhole, which is about 30 or 40 feet deep. They didn't have wells.
    Very Interesting!!

The Hidden Pond campsite got popular last night. Two large groups arrived. About 10 in one and 5/6 in the other. Also Flboy and his buddy from Ocala arrived.

Everyone had variations on cooking gear and systems. It's always great to see the variety in our community.

The morning started at 8AM again for me. I can't beleive it!!! Leisurely breakfast of tea and tortillas and I packed up for home. Got to the parking at noon and home at 2PM

Thanks again to flrider for planning and coordinating this and to everyone who showed up for it. It would be a dull weekend without you!!

    Great report, Grinder!

I've started a trip report thread for the hang located here.

It was great seeing everyone out there!
