Anyone use a Hennessy Hammock Asym Hex Fly

ZQ here....FYI to anyone interested. There is a difference in the HH hex of old, and the one you asked about. The new HH hex, is asym...not symetrical. I'm not sure if HH is offering the Hex in the standard symetrical anymore. You might want to check on that. The last couple of HH Hex's we received, directly from HH to put doors on, were asym. Because of this, we designed a pattern for doors on the asym as well as the standard.

As tacticaldruid pointed out, You could save up an extra $25 and grab the toxaway from ahe. You would have some weight and it would be more than big enough.

When you order your HH from the company, you can asked that the standard fly be switch out (for more money) for a Hex. That said, I find the standard fly fine for summer days when you want something to keep the dew off but you are not going to be heavily rained on. Also you can put gear under the Hammock and tarp; you have the whole length of the hammock except for your exit area.

In iffy conditions I use the HH Hex - but I wish it was fully catenary cut (keeps it taut all around). The top ridge line is catenary, that helps a lot, but not the sides or outer edge.

Sorry about the cross post but I put a new HH Hex up for sale as soon as I sell the Expedition with standard fly.
