    Doing something Extraordinary...

    Doing something Extraordinary...

    I heard by the news something happened two weeks ago that there was little room at the SPCA again...Some unfortunate circumstance that caused a lot of trained and older dogs to end up at the pound.... I don't know - so I went up and filled a foster form and didn't give much thought other than - well help out.

    Welcome to Nico. _ got the call two days ago he is 12 years old and not ready for adoption yet... he has been here all of 4 hours and is incredibly laid back... His training on command sucks and I will work on that this weekend.

    But wow Rugby and Chewie settled in right quick and Nico is good with kids and cats....

    Really cool dog.... if my Knee is up to it... I will hike him tomorrow, with Rugby.... He's shy as hell and won't pose for the camera... typical Malamute.
    Click image for larger version. I am so on the fence about helping out - but the group was all about the safety of my pets and Nico we are off at a good start.

    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl

    You did a good thing ... and it will come back to you a hundred fold. After that fine beast is with your family awhile it's amazing how they settle in and become a part of it.

    Good deal. Got a feral cat sitting beside me purring away as I write. A few months after Booger our ~ 20 year cat died, my wife started pushing for a new cat. She went to the no kill shelter, and some of the cats had apparently been born wild. I think that's what we got, some kittens that had never been around people. Oh no, we couldn't get the friendly cats that were coming up and rubbing on us. She had to have the ones she thought were more beautiful. Brother and sister- Max and Ruby. They have been very strange cats, can't play with them any where near like I could old Booger, but they are very loving in their own weird way. Most of the time, if you approach them they run for their lives, obviously aware that we plan to cook them for dinner. But then other times, when conditions are just right, they are all love. And, the male is a confirmed bridge hammock user!

    So what a good thing adopting that older dog, I bet he will give and take a lot of love.

    You did a good thing.
    We have three rescue dogs and we love them. There are so many dogs out there needing homes

    Well done
