    To all those in the Northern gulf, stay safe up there. I reckon you have another 24 hours of good hammocking weather before you might need to head inside. I tell you what though, it would be interesting to rig up a tarp and see if it could withstand the wind.

    Hope all of you folks out on the Gulf Coast stay okay through this one. Looks like it might be...interesting...

    I remember 2004 as well; it was the year I moved to Gainesville. My folks came up here to avoid one of the storms (they live in Jensen Beach, right on the Atlantic); it followed 'em up...

    A friend asked if I was still married after my camping trip with my wife.

    I told her his question, and her answer was "Duh, we slept in separate hammocks."

    She then went on to complain, that she will not be doing another hammock camping trip while using the blue tarp that we had to use for her. She commented that "do you know what blue tarps are used for? Fixing roofs, and covering manure."

    I replied, but hon, "I was using it to cover manure..."
