    Welcome from Indiana.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Wow - that IS close. Not much between North Bend and the pass - must be exit 34 somewhere? Back by the tree farm? I'm up by Rattlesnake Lake, so almost within yelling distance.

If you start going down the hammock rabbit hole and want to check some things out let me know. I have a few different setups I'd be happy to show you so can discover your preferences and get what you want. Of course, if you're like most of us here you'll end up with multiple hammocks anyway, but that's a different issue

Thanks for the invite, going to have to miss this opportunity, already have family commitments the last 3 weeks of Sept. I'll have to keep my eye out for the next one.

    Curt,

We're even closer than that, we used to be southeast of the Truck Stop (and River Bend before that), but moved into the Rim about 6 years ago (we're down the last street before the Uplands)... you aren't the Curt that lives down the hill from me with the chickens are you? Like I said, I'm a confirmed DIY'er, so any opportunities to steal some inspiration would be greatly appreciated. I'm already scheming some test hangs by one of the falls on my side of Rattlesnake ridge, might not overnight, but it would be a great place for a nap.

It almost seems as though all "hammock" google searches eventually lead to Shugs. I'm almost positive I've come across him somewhere in real life, he's certainly memorable!

She lives here in the PNW and comes to many of the local Hangs.

I'm not the Curt with chickens, but only a couple blocks away. How funny is that? If you want to check out some hammocks, just let me know. Happy to bring a few over to the park at Brewster and set them up. Be warned - I might try to talk you into a couple mini-sewing jobs If you have a machine that will go through thick pack material I'd be very interested in hiring your skills.

    Curt,

Will definitely take you up on your kind offer. Not too worried about sewing, the newest machine we've got (except for the wife's serger) is about 60 years old. They're not indestructible, but they're really tough compared to the modern machines... and I've got spares. Anyway I can punch through about 10 layers of jeans denim with little trouble. I'll pm you with contact info.
