My Traveler with dynaglide whoopies is around 11 oz.
    Is that including the straps?

I would go with the double. The bottom layer ripped on my first night of a 3 day trip and the other layer held for the rest of the trip.

No, hammock and whoopies. My straps are 3.4 oz I believe with Dutch Buckles

Good tip. I have always had that thought.

Does the Traveler come with a ridgeline, like the Blackbird?

Well.... I have been sleeping full time in one for well over a year now..

Expect happiness... I would go double as well, in case you loan it to a friend on an outing, you can slip a waffle pad in it, and keep the under quilt for yourself...

At least that is my plan...lol
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

I used the traveler exclusively this year and I have to say I enjoy it very much.

I like that I can lay in either direction

I like that It can be modular with a bug net and without

Since I've gone ultralight I don't need much things with me so I dont miss the shelf at all with the blackbird as I thought I would

I find it a bit more comfy than the blackbird

OK, last chance to chime in. I am pulling the trigger on a Traveler tomorrow...but...

I am still on the fence on a 1.1 Double vs 1.7 Single, and I am looking for ideas. Just to add another perspective, I have slept many nights in a Skeeter Beeter (flipped over without bugnet), and was comfortable. How will the stretch on a 1.7 Single compare to the single layer of the Skeeter Beeter Pro? Anyone who has done both would give me a good sense of how these two might compare....

    Traveler Ordered!

OK, after some debate and discussion, I decided upon the Traveler 1.7 Single. There are advantages to the double, but for me, I felt the single was what I needed.

I spent an hour last night weighing my current suspension pieces on and off my Blackbird, and I decided that my straps and toggles are what will benefit me most, weight wise, so I will be making one more set of whoopie slings and picking up another set of Harbor Freight straps. This was not an easy decision to reach, as I also was comparing against other products out there on the market.

Once I actually get the hammock, I will weigh my set-up against the stock to see which will actually be better for me.

Hope I have made the best choices for me. Now the waiting begins! Hope all the RidgeRunner activity does not delay my Traveler too much....
