    I just had this thought . . .

When it's a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon and I've finished all my chores, mowed the lawn, walked the dog, swept the pool, done the dishes, etc. etc. and I have the thought "I think I'll go outside under the trees and take a nap" That thought is never followed up with "I think I'll set up my tent."

    I'm just sayin'

Nothing is better, especially when your laying in a hammock you built.
Hammocking, car camping, backpacking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Getting in touch with nature is getting expensive. Good thing I can DIY!

Blackhand: I have a nice little trout stream about 10 minutes from my house.

If I want to drive 12 minutes and hike a bit to avoid the ridiculous $10 parking fee I can go here:

You're very lucky GregB. I pass by your town all the time making my way to the Sierras. But it takes me 2 hours of driving before I even get to where you start.

    Envious,

I woke up Saturday morning and thought about going for a day hike. The first thing I heard when I made it downs stairs:
Wife: "What did you have planned today?" (Never a good sign.)
    Me: "Why?"
Wife: "Could you take me to the Mall, I need to get a new pair of shoes."
    Me: "I guess."

Spent most of the morning at the mall, then took my wife to Johnny Rocket's for lunch. Afterward it was to the pet store. At least I got to run to the hardware store to get some better rope for my Turtle Lady Stand. If I didn't have to work Sunday, I would have hit the trail.

"Any night in a hammock, is a good night."

You are right about the thought process. I got sleepy a few hours ago. Upstairs to the bedroom? To the living room couch? Nope! To the basement mancave and the hammock. I was asleep in minutes and just woke up. Tent schment
