Howdy. welcome to the forum! I was in Shenandoah a few Weeks ago as well, what a beautiful park. We climbed Old Rag and did the whitetail canyon loop.
Just out of curiosity, any of you northern Virginians ever been to prince William forest park?

To answer the question about Prince William Forest Park, it is a hidden gem. Close in to the metro area, right off of I95. Located near Quantico VA. Good hiking trails throughout the park.
I live a couple of miles north of the park. Go there sometimes to ride my bike when I want to practice climbing hills. Advantage the park has is it's low vehicle traffic.
