My stock suspension line started to fail, center section broke but outer section held...thankfully.
Replaced with heavier duty line while on trip, then purchased Atlas straps and am using those with stock biners.

What hammock/cord have you guys had issue with? My SBP came with cord that was more then up to the task...
As far as knots
I use a tree strap and tie onto that with a sheet bend, then go around the hook on the hammock and tie the cord back onto itself with a taught line hitch.
Fairly easy knots you probably should know google will teach you plenty...
After a few runs it is pretty easy to tie up and it adjust about as easily as woopie slings... Just a little bulkier/heavier.
I have the cheapest GT, and have had no problem with the suspension cords. if you want, you can untie the s-hooks to save on weight and loop them directly to your toggles or biners or whatever you use for suspension. That's what I did on mine anyway. They waste quite a bit of weight and space.
I cut up the remaining line for other projects, will grab a pic but can't really show the failure. It was obvious though, normal cord, then narrowed section where the center fibers broke. (out section held, I never hit the ground)
My line was purple and black, stiff, seemed like good stuff.
Of course it was tested with my 300lbs dropping into the hammock unceremoniously, swinging, the odd visit from my 2 dogs adding another 50lbs...it took some abuse.
Really didn't bother me much, the line held, i just noticed the defect at some point and grabbed the Atlas straps. Which btw I'm now using with biners when wrapping the tree, tired of all that time wasted running the strap through the loop and back out during tear down.
